Solar Arts Showcase
I had the honor of participating in the first Solar Arts Showcase put on by my dear friends at Chowgirls Killer Catering. The night was a smashing success and so gorgeous! I teamed up with some of my fav collaborative partners BLOMMONSTER and Avant Decor to create the "Something Blue" ceremony space. We had a great time pulling in blue elements with delphinium and hydrangea, along with pale blue draping. I personally loved the juxtaposition of the soft and feminine flowers with the more geometric and masculine candle hurricanes and Edison bulb chandelier.
Many of our couples choose to have the ceremony at the same venue as the reception and one of the benefits of not being confined to a traditional altar is that you have more flexibility with decor. I feel it is important to create a special space for the ceremony to happen. The marriage, after all, is the whole reason for the day. I also firmly believe in repurposing decor whenever possible, like transforming ceremony arrangements in to centerpieces or with our showcase set up, the white boxes with floral could be moved in front of a stage used for a band (no one wants to see ugly stage skirting!).
There were a ton of creative partners that helped shape this event, including Gretchen Berry Design Co. (whose watercolor and goil foil "menus" featured fun wedding trivia - one of my favorite parts!), Linen Effects, PHOS Events, Rudy's Event Rentals, Farina Baking Company, Ashley Fox Designs, Martha's Gardens, The Traveling Photo Booth, Ultimate Events, Brett Dorrian Artistry Studios, The White Room and Lucas Botz who took all of these fantastic photos!
